1) Involvement of the Board in High Panel on Water and Disaster

- Progress of the High Panel will be reported to UNSGAB meeting to ensure concerted actions.

- Objectives of the Panel include the agenda of providing adequate safe water and sanitation during and after disasters.
- Secretariat will contact key organizations such as WWC to support the Panel's secretariat to advance the agenda of "Provision of Water at disaster"

3) To organize the High Panel
|
- Ms. Castano and Mr. Oda drafted concept note for "High-level Panel on Water and Disaster" in Jan. 2007.
- Mr. Oda together with UN/ISDR and the JWF organized preparatory meeting of High Panel in Jan. 2007.
- Dr. Han Seung-Soo, President of Korea Water Forum, UN special envoy on climate change, Chairman of the 56th UN General Assembly, Former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, agreed to assume the post of High Panel Chair.
- The first meeting of the Panel will be held at the end of July 2007.
