IYS2008 - UNSGAB

Dear Participants of the 1st preparatory meeting,

Thank you for your active participation in preparatory process of IYS 2008.

After the 1st Preparatory Meeting in New York on May 7th, 2007, "Draft Objectives of IYS" was placed on UNSGAB website to call for comments by stakeholders. Those comments were reflected in the final draft.
H.R.H. the Prince of Orange, Chair of United Nations Secretary-General's Advisory Board on Water and Sanitation (UNSGAB) sent the final Objectives to the Secretary-General as the Board's recommendation.
Please see attached final Objectives of IYS2008.

We appreciate your active contribution in producing the Objectives through the process.
The 2nd meeting to discuss concrete actions of IYS based on the Objectives will be held in World Water Week in Stockholm on August 15th, 2007.
The pre-announcement of the meeting will be distributed early next week.
